are you sure that you don't have it backwards, there is 2 larger bearing cups and 2 smaller cups.

It's gonna depend on your body and drivetrain configuration. 4wd vs2wd. ext cab vs reg cab. They have different drive shafts. Look at napa.com and each ujoint lists the size specifications. Look up your truck model then look up a c2500 light duty with 14 bolt s/f. Or, best bet is to bring the 14 bolt ujoint and your stock one to the parts store with you and figure it out. If the center section of the ujoints have the same diameter you might be able to swap caps.

I had same problem on my swap. Measure the size of the caps you need and width of the U-joint cap-to-cap, both directions. Take those dimensions to oreily or napa or wherever. They should have a book with U-joint dimensions, cap sizes, etc. Whatever u-joint fits those dimensions is the one you'll need. Keep the box or at least the part with the number on it so you wont have to do all that again when you break it. Keep it in the glovebox.

if its not stock, most $7/hr parts guys dont have a clue how to find it. if your local parts store has guys who actually know how to look up something non-stock, you're VERY lucky. fortunately, i have already done the work to determine which joint it is, all you have to do is measure it, and match up the part numbers to the link i posted.

swapping the yoke isnt something for anybody to do, you'll have to install a new crush sleeve and set it properly or you'll probably screw up the gears, most of the time they will just whine, but they could fail if the setup is far enough off.

Yes I was so lucky that I had to buy 4 U-joints before somebody pulled the book out and looked at every u-joint listed to find the right one. You're right, most of the parts store guys don't have a clue how to find the right parts or even what some of the parts are. Every time I go into that store there are different people working. Good thing we have experts here with access to all the right information.
