Hey guys i am new here so be easy lol I have a 2005 Silverado with 56,000mi, and the 5.3 L33 in it and Just last night it started to run rough on me it threw 3 codes on me. P0171 and Po131 and P0300 I know you all know the meaning to each break down of the codes... I have read that it could possibly be the fuel pressure regulator??? I can smell fuel up inside the engine compartment would that be a indication of the fuel regulator being bad???? I also smell carbon??? I am new to this so I am just going by what I have read.. Just trying to know whats going on and save some money.. Any info would be greatly appreciated thank you

x2. the p0171 code means that bank 1 (left bank) is running lean. followed by the p0131 which is related to the bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor. and p0300 is an engine misfire. just had one last week at work as soon as the bank 2 o2 went into closed loop it dropped to 50mV and stayed there dumping fuel in cylinders 2 4 6 and 8 causing misfires on all cylinders. if it had a bad fuel pressure regulator you wouldnt have any lean codes.

P300 can be tripped by a dirty MAF sensor. Clean it and reset the PCM. Just another suggestion.
