I had a 305 ECM in my 91 when I first swapped a 350 into it. It ran alright. But swapped the 350 ECM in since I had it layin around.

Well i just want to know if there's any difference in the two or if its just a different chip for each motor. I got a junkyard ecm because mine was fried and i'm not 100% sure that is from a 350. but i did swap the chip from mine into the new one.

If you get a custom tune it will run it. LB4 equals a 4.3L V6 Z Code engine. and M30 is trans im not sure which one

the ecu will work for a v8 with the correct harness but the chip is no good for a v8 replace it with one that is made for you motor.

Re: 305 ECM in a 350 TBI Truck?

Yea i stated that in this thread already. i took my custom tuned chip from my other fried ecu and put it in the new one. so what you all are getting at is, other then the chip, there is no difference in the two ecus and it shouldnt cause any performance issues?

right. if you swapped the chip, that's no longer any different than a stock 350 ECM.

i had the 305 ecm in my '95 for a while til i got a deal on the 350 ecm. ran fine, a little rough at times but im not really convinced the ecm was the problem.

Naa i don't need the prom but thanks anyway rob. i don't think the ecu is the problem but i was trying to eliminate it as a possibility. i think the fuel system is all clogged up with blue silicone that my brother used when he put the fuel pump in for me. bastard!!
