Removed your wipers? Interesting and rather unique, it seems. Round here we need those for inspection and of course rain, snow and mud etc

I went outside and looked at it and remembered how high gas prices are and went back inside..
Drove it to the doc's office and back home.

Drove it to town to get U-joints for it.
Broke 1 bolt out of 4 on the rear axel yoke
Couldn't get the rear Ujoint out of the driveshaft so I stole the driveshaft from my 94 and put new Ujoints in that one.
Removed yoke put it in a vice and drilled out the broken bolt, tapped/cleaned threads in all 4 holes.
Installed DS and remembered that in order to grease the rear Ujoint you have to disconnect ujoint from rear axel
Took for a test drive.

Well I bought the truck back in '09, I think either the PO had it off or I took it off and just capped the EGR valve and inlet on the TB, so I got a new solenoid and hooked it all back up, 18 bucks later and I will watch my MPG and see what I get, I hope about .5-1 MPG better on the interstate.

I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul.
Because the engine is tunes to expect that gases from the EGR will be circulated back into the engine and puts in enough fuel to mix with them (mainly the oxygen) for combustion. Without these gases you will be putting in the same amount of fuel but getting less combustion (running rich). Hooking it back up will bring the engine back to stoichiometric (proper air fuel ratio) combustion. Making more horsepower with the same amount of fuel, which in turn means less throttle input for a given output, less fuel put into engine, less fuel burned, improved fuel economy. :)

"I drive it like I built it.... poorly."
EGR really is only engaged at a crusing speed, i.e. my two hour drive each way from school every couple weeks, long trips to IL, and to PA this summer, granted I have done more mods since I removed it, but I did not gain any performance by leaving it unhooked and if anything it hurt my MPG.
This is the reason I am hooking it back it, will hurt nothing and can only help, and it didn't cost much for a new solenoid and I have only anything to gain.
