    I have a 2004 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 with a 8.1L engine. Can anyone tell me if the fuel filter is located inside the gas tank? I looked along the frame but didnt see an in-line filter there. Thanks!

    yes, in tank. Not a service item.
    '04 Silverado 1/2 ton 2WD ext. cab dk. grey. 5.3 liter, locking diff. XLerator exhaust - offbrand but throaty. Borgeson intermediate shaft, Bilstein HD shocks.

    Thanks for the reply Bob T! I havent had this truck very long and want to give it a good tune up. But I wasnt sure where the fuel filter was located.
