The brake lights and blinkers are not working on my 99 Suburban. I checked the fuses (by the dash) and they are all good there, and checked the relays under the hood, and where, according to the cover, the brake light and blinker relays are supposed to be, there aren't any relays or even contacts for relays. the cutouts are there, but there aren't any contacts there for the relays to plug into.

Everything else under there seems to be fine. Where or what else can I check??

Sounds like a multi function switch to me.

KISS principle: you did verify that bulbs aren't blown, right?
Next, check if the front turn signals work at all. If not, THEN start tearing into the multi-function switch.

You don't have to touch the airbags to change the switch.

On my '99 k1500 OBS you do have to remove horn/airbag cover. Manual says you have to remove steering wheel but you dont. You can get to the two screws without removing wheel.

It was that switch...I took it back to the dealer i bought it from and they fixed it for free! I have bought numerous cars from them and I guess it was time for them to pay me back. Thanks for the help guys.
