Anyone here ever heard of the Fuel Shark? Supposedly its a little device you plug into your cigarette lighter and you get better gas mileage. Now, it seems too good to be true and I know things like that usually are. I did alot of research last time the gas prices went up and found out that basically all of the little products that are supposed to help your gas mileage are scams. I tried a google search for fuel shark scam but couldn't come up with much of anything. So... What do you guys think. Scam?

If it plugs into a cig lighter its not going to effect anything except the thickness of your wallet.

Haha. I figured I would get some comment like this. Just to defend myself, I wasn't searching for those products or anything. It was sent to me by a friend so I just wanted some people backing me up before I told him it was a scam

Lighter wallet, equals less mass for truck to move, equals 0.000000000000000000000000000000000001mpg.

Why would a company do that? Surely if it has the blue light, it HAS to work! lol

what really made me chuckle was the website saying that it balances your vehicles electrical system so your spark plugs can deliver a strong, even spark........all this from something that goes in your cigarette lighter.

haha. I guess I didn't read that part, or maybe it was just to sketchy and I just didn't comprehend it. That is funny though. Next thing we know, we're gonna have an autopilot device that plugs into the cigarette lighter!

The way these products "work" (we've all heard of someone who bought one of these and got 3mpg better fuel economy, and they swear by it) is that you plug it in and start thinking about fuel economy, you accelerate a little lighter, you drive a little slower and come next fill up, you've gone a little farther. Skip the spending part and just drive economically, it's the best improvement you can make to your fuel economy and doesn't cost a cent.

i second that shwa kid, i recently lost 2nd and 4th gear in my tranny and im still driving it till i can rebuild it and the last time i checked my mpg i had increased by 1.5mpg due to me driving a bit lighter on the gas pedal and thats with no over drive!!!!! i would probably be up by 3-4mpg pretty easily if i just drove like i do right now all the time and had all my gears lol
