Ok I am stumped. My 4l80e makes a weird sound in park. Transmission was rebuilt about 6000 miles ago. The sound is like marbles churning and when you turn off the van it slows with the engine stopping. In drive and reverse the sound is gone.
    Any ideas??

I had a friend suggest that the torque converter and input shaft may be getting stripped. I drive the van hard but no powerslides or burn outs. Well, ok I have done 2 or 3 burnouts.

Quite a few of the old HD's we used to run made an odd whirling sound while the tranny was in first gear and it was gone once it shifted. It honestly became more pronounced the hotter the transmission got. I honestly never noticed anything though in park. Considering it follows engine rpm I would be concerned about the convertor and maybe engagement to the pump.

Cool Thanks for the input I was leaning towards The "TQ" Only because the transmission was completely gone through before I installed it. And that was really the only part I didn't replace.
