Some of the best GEN III tuners actually recommend running the copper plugs. If its good enough for them, its good enough for me.

Because the manufacturers are out to save a buck and install whatever gets the job done through warranty.

Do you really think that? The factory plugs run great through 100k miles, while giving good emissions, and good emissions = complete fuel burn = good power

No, I don't think factory installed plugs are junk, I'm just saying that a good set of iridium plugs could be an improvement. Manufacturers aren't going to go all out on wear items and when it comes time to replace, you should consider upgrades. Think headlamps, brakes, tires, filters, hoses, plugwires, etc.

the same thing that changing anything else on the truck will make it better. the same reason we put on different injectors, throttle bodies, headers, exhaust, wires, or any other part pretty much. Factory does not always mean the best.

on that note, i run Cheap NGK plugs in mine, nothing else.

If they work good I would not change a thing. All of my older cars get regular ac plugs.I have tried some high dollar plugs and can't tell any difference,or they don't last very long.

The newer cars and trucks have a lot hotter ignition system.I think that burns up the older style plugs

LOL I'm not changing anything just debating. Todays ignitions are no "hotter" as you put it than some systems when there was only copper.

for me its about wear, ive tried the "oem" plugs, they never last as long as the originals for what ever reason. all i ever get out of standard plugs is 30-40k and they cost 2-3. i can get the e3's and not have to worry about it for at least twice that time. they have alot more surface area to wear out. and i can get them for 4.80 at advance. so you are saving service plus the regular plugs are not going to be that efficient when they start wearing out till you notice they need replaced. so even if they dont give you more power or fuel economy you are still gaining. but the cars ive put them in there was a increase in fuel efficiency as well so thats bonus money to the good.

I wouldnt run an E3 gimmick plug in any internal combustion engine I work on. If you noticed any gains or difference in your vehicle after installing the E3 junk it was due to the previous plugs not performing well. THEY DO NOTHING MORE THAN A STANDARD DESIGN SPARK PLUG.

your unwillingness too believe something might work as advertised is the reason i stopped bothering to post on threads like this. im sure there are others since they have been selling plugs for a while. in fact i keep anal mileage and maintenance records and buy the vehicles with usually 10-20k on them and drive them to 200-300k in the case of my dd's. all of my dd' have gotten the same mileage as new until about 100k and develop a light miss. i change the plugs and the miss goes away but the mileage never went down and the ones ive done lately with e3 plugs gain a mile or 2 over stock new mileage
