Yeah, I'd say a bad master, or maybe a slave. When I had a Toyota, I put a rebuild kit into the master, and it only lasted a short time...... maybe that's what he did.

on my 89 k5, having issues with the Hydraulic clutch system.
Some times it works as it should. but every once in a while the clutch wants to release with the pedal only about 1" off the floor. and not just a little grab, it goes from disengaged to darn near full engagement with just the slightest pedal movement. if i put it back on the floor it still stays partially engaged. I have to fully release the pedal, than push it through its full stroke to disengage the clutch again.
bad master cylinder? they guy i purchased it from in February said the entire clutch system was brand new as of Dec 2011. clutch, slave and master alll brand new. that is just what he said. i Know the clutch itself is nowhere near brand new, but the slave and master don't look too old.
master cylinder or could there be a larger issue?
