Just browsing the Chevy site and under options, had RPO code G86 as a limited slip, and option G80 as a locker. Does anyone have any info on the G86?

I also noticed they have three box sizes now?? Is the shortest one only for the crew cab pickup or can it be ordered on all cab sizes?

I was looking at GM-trucks.com RPO list and I would say it it the opposite. The G80 is listed for 1500HD and above while the g86 is listed only for the 1500.

So I would say G80 is for 14 bolt axles.

The G80 is the locker, crappy in the obs,and slightly better in the nbs.Open until 100-200 rpm diff between the wheels, won't lock above 20mph.
The G86 is a clutch type limited slip 50% power to each wheel all the time, same as in any car with a lsd.
