So from what I can tell, the AEM didn't do much, and really the airaid with just a better duct and stock? filter was the best?

The cold air intake product testing took place on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at our Dyno facility in Temecula.
First, I’d like to say a big thank you to our customer Jason Thomas who loaned us his vehicle (2008 Silverado 5.3L Flex Fuel) for the testing!
The truck was completely stock with 130,000 miles, and all testing was conducted with the hood closed to simulate real-world driving conditions. Gains reported are to the wheels as opposed to the crank.
Again, please note that we did not have anything to gain by this intake testing, nor did we have any bias for or against any of the companies’ products being tested. This was strictly an independent testing.
**Also please note that we sell all of the brands of intakes that were tested. For pricing, please email (julie@blackbearperformance.com) or PM me.
That all being said, here are the results. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, but please let’s try to keep all comments respectful and we definitely do not want to see any bashing of any of the tested products.

Thanks for running this test, I've been touting this for a while, but haven't had the data to back it up.
I bought the Airraid MIT tube as I was missing a clamp on the OE tube and there was a small crack after the MAF. I didn't buy the CAI rhetoric, and wanted to retain the best filtration (paper). Airaid had the product I wanted, being just the tube to nuke that huge silencer box. Turns out it was not just a good buy, but a great buy.
I read this on another forum, was a very good article. The Airaid MIT tube is indeed the best bang for the buck.
I think the black plastic K&N would have been a little better if you didn't use the metal tube.
It probably would only help a little, but not show such a sad increase for the price.
02' Silverado 2500HD CCSB
-Mostly stock 6.0L for now...
1983 GMC Jimmy
-6.2 Diesel/Built TH350
I've heard of people cutting out the webbing on the inside of the airbox (pull the filter out and you will know what i mean), but there is no evidence to say there are any gains from that. It just looks like it would help airflow...but without proper testing it's all speculation.

Where is a good place to buy at a decent price for the Airaid jr kit ?
Awhile back I was looking into getting one and at the time the best price I could find was from Auto-zone for $126.99 ...
Send an email to julie@blackbearperformance.com and she can get you a quote.
Will do ! Thanks
Sweet.
Good thing the airaid is the best performer per dollar because i just ordered it about 3 days ago.
Shocked by the results really.
I know the tube is a big factor in these but i figured a full intake would almost surely take the win here.
Well thats good to know, and an awesome test.
Now exhausts ;)
