Hey all, been lurking for a while but thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself. I'm in southern Indiana, just outside of Louisville, Kentucky.
I picked up a 1993 Silverado back in November last year. Pretty straight truck for the age, and the plan is to slowly "restore" (for lack of a better term) it into something to run for several more years to come.
Engine is a 305, has 146,000 on it but uses no oil. So far, what I've done to it is...
1. Replace headlights with TYC headlights
2. Replace front turn/parking lights
3. Replace license plate light assemblies
4. Full tune up
5. Transmission fluid change
6. Replace coolant temp sensor, oil pressure sending unit and stat
7. Replace headlamp and panel light dimmer switches
8. Added K&N drop-in air filter
9. Installed Flowmaster 50 series single in/dual out exhaust with 18" tips, deleted catalytic converter
Mechanically, the truck seems to have been cared for pretty well, all things considered. The sensors were all replaced mostly to know what I had in it, but the oil pressure unit was leaking so that needed to be addressed.
I generally average between 16-19 mpg with the truck, which I'm pretty pleased with.
Future considerations include...
1. Minor body work (cab corners need replacing and minor dent/ding repair)
2. Paint job (some clear coat chipping), considering color change but haven't made up my mind yet on that one
Anyhow, here is a pic of the truck the day I brought it home, it looks a bit different now as I've added a diamond plate tool box and ventshades over the windows, but I think you can see its a pretty straight old truck!

Welcome to the site...BTW nice truck!
2009 Silverado Ext Cab Vortec 4.8L V-8 Flowmaster Exhaust 40 Series K&N Air Filter Spray In Bedliner Tinted Windows.......New Pics coming soon!
Thanks, guys. I'm not super crazy about the teal color, but that is always subject to change! For the age and mileage, it seems to be a really solid truck though, so I can't complain about that.
There's a wealth of information here. My better half complains about the time (and money) I'm spending as a result of FSC!!!
