I just bought a 1992 Reg Cab SWB Silverado. Sold my Canyon to get a full size. I plan to lower it and do some restoration work on it. I came to the forum for exterior information and photos. Im trying to figure how low I want go and what wheels look the best. I dont want bags but I want to be low. Im thinking of going with a 5/7 drop. Im also in search of tire and wheel specs.

    Welcome to FSC man

What side of Houston? I think 5/7 might be a tad low for some parts of town...there's a couple of spots in Galveston I cant turn in and I'm only running a 3/4 drop. I plan on going to a 5/6 though

Im NW, around beltway. Im used to lowered cars. I know how to drive low and get around. The 5/7 looks good. I have some 15" rally wheels painted black. The truck is blue. Im gonna try to post a pic.

    First day I got it...

Just installed some 235/60/15 tires on front and some 255/60/15 on the rear. I need to lower it, hopefully soon.

It needs a little work, but it will come around. I saw a 454ss for sale today for 6500 in Houston. It had 75,000 miles. It was in good shape, lowered with some 18s. I have the guys number if anyone wants it.

Thanks, Im not sure yet. Tomorrow I was gonna order parts to lower it 5/7. Probably belltech. You think it would look better with tint? I kind of like how it looks clean with no tint.

    Re: Newb from Houston

I think you should drop it with some Hotchkis parts for badass handling

Oh yeah dude tint makes a huge difference...with those black rims I'd definitely do tint. I have 20% up front and 1.5% on the rest

how did you do 1.5% ? Ive never seen that unless you use two layers of tint.

I was thinking about it. I saw a silverado with those tires and I liked it. Lets see a pic of your Chevy.

I just ordered 3" springs, 2" spindles, a flip kit and some shackles. I should have it lowered in a week or so.
