I think having the corner tail lenses helps make that look work,,but could still look like it belongs when finished...
I will wait for the finished product before I decide...
What are you going to do w/the lower line on the gate? Its going to be all by itself.

Im thinking about adding some metal to the bottom of the gate -- been debating on doing a metal roll pan connected to gate, and the whole azz end hinge up to access air equipment -- dunno yet

in the gate.. Getting the LED strips. My handle broke inside the gate, and i dont like the handle inside the bed anyways.. I figure it may be complicated, but i think i can do a steel tube with round bar for a hinge at the top-- add a strip of steel across the top of gate to conceal it, and the bed will be fabricated inside.. Gonna put the gas tank in front and air supply in the back.. Ive thought about instead of a center cover over the bridge area, doing aluminum strips with lexan.. Like an ol school wood floor, but clear.. ( going to paint frame and suspension)

Oh yea, Troy.. Ever since you told me about the rear setup i had planned, ive been thinking of going a different rout.. A more common or basic rout at that.. Been thinking bag on axle or a KP 6 link.. Or the Extensive 2link bag on bar.. Not really fond of the 2link tho.. What are your thoughts? Its going to be a daily driver still for sure.. Wont be "hitten switches" lol.. More like aired up to town, cali in town, and lay the paint when parked..lol Im getting paranoid on which will last

My thoughts are: How much do you want to spend on rear susp.and how much lift will you need, also will you want to haul stuff?
Tire diam./width will also affect your choices so know all that info 1st and then you can choose the setup.
Simple is good and more affordable.
    You needd that new welder 1st. ;{}

Price- dont really matter i guess, im in no deadline so can work around things..
Lift- clear 20x8- 5.5 backspace? with a 35 maybe 40 profile tire in front and azz sit level at that height (kinda factory or a mild static) Will be body dropped tho.
Hauling- wont be much left of bed.. lol
Welder- still getting a Hobart :)

** I hate being new to this stuff **

Your a salesman's dream.. laugh out loud.

6 links are expensive and you wont need all the lift.
Steve says a 20x8 @ 5.5 will be close so you dont want to use a panhard. You can do an (offset) 3 link off the fuel tank crossmember & bag on bar(bag set into the rail). You can do a parallel 4 w/a watts link & bag over axle. You can do the KP 6 link, its the easiest route but w/the watts(must have)you will spend around $1600.for only the link kit...you will still need a notch.
For the notch, you can buy a plate style cheap.

If I had it to do over,I would go 3 link, bag on lower bar and set the bag into the rail w/a pocket. Its all fabrication though. If your not on a budget the 6 link kit will get it done quick cause all the math has been done for you.

Its up to you.You will have to fab up the notch reguardless. Think about it..Theres alot of info around here and on SSM.

Ive searched ALLOT and everyone has some kind of beef with every setup, but theirs naturally..lol.. Id really love a three link, but im not that sure of myself with fab work like that on a first build.. Ive noticed most of the better air mang. kits are around $1,200.+ with RE7 bags included.. And a front cup set is about $100.. and id like to stay around the three grand limit on this, so theres over a grand just for the rear setup left.. Im torn between i guess a par4 w/watts link or a tri4 both bag over axle since lift is not a great factor.. Im guessing bag on axle is a 6-8" lift range? (i hope)..

Re: my 98 gmc nightmare project

Well,,the least amount of fab would be a bolt on par4 w/ watts, also bolt on.
You will have to weld in the notch, bridge and bag brackets but thats cake.

Look around for bolt on par4s & watts link kits and pick out an 8 pc notch kit.

A sleeve bag will give a nicer ride over axle(and about 8" of lift)but a convoluted Slam bag will give a little more lift.I recommend mounting them outside the rails.
