    Biomechanical Airbrush Take II

Some of you may remember my initial idea to have engine parts painted with an evil bio bone/mechanical look. Well that concept fell through, artist took too long and had personal issues I no longer wanted to deal with. I also wasn't crazy about the direction/coloring it was going in.

Figured I'd just start a new thread for this.

This time I hired a local and discussed a new idea keeping more with my all black truck, this time going with greys and blacks. much different style too, no masking, all freehand, which I like more.

Keep in mind these are early photos, a lot of detail and secondary filler background will be added, as well as the overall look darkened. I told the artist, there def needs to be more detail added in the background I don't like the open space, he agreed and will add more in the second stage. I want that layered effect where it looks like a lot is going on.

I think once this new artist adds more detail it will look better, the open design of it is killing me right now. What do you guys think? Here is the other previous artists style just to refresh your memory.

im a huge fan of both designs. as long as this guy can make it look real intricate and dark wich it looks like he can, it will be awesome. and i agree the new stuff flows better with your overall look than the first.

2nd design meaning the black/grey one? That's what I was hoping.. thanks everyone. Yeah, I've been giving my input on it along the way since I have ideas too. For instance, the tubes he had were smooth (which I hated, I asked him just to add some quick lines to make it look like a flex tube which is a little bit of work that makes a big difference IMO) You can see a few lines he added while I was there just to show me how it would look.

No Jerry, I know you were kidding around, I'll be happy if it's done in 2-3 weeks.

what other parts are he doing? and are you keeping the design under the hood only?

Yeah, just the engine cover above, the K&N intake tube will have a ribcage and a lung on it, the fusebox cover will have some electrical theme such as the two round bulbs like you've seen in the frankenstein movie with crazy lightening inbetween them, and the shroud cover which is the biggest piece too which he started but wasn't worthy of photographing yet.

He's trying like hell to get me to do a tailgate, hood..which I don't want to do, that's too old skool for me.
