Just replaced my 4L60 which was bolted to a 350. It had 6 bolts. The top two are a little difficult and you will need around 2 feet of extensions I have heard that a 4 ft extension will make it easier but I didn't have one or enough. Hope this helps. I used air tools which was a HUGE help in the tight space.

yup have 6 bolts. The 2 on top are little harder to get to. I have best luck getting them out with a 20 inch extension fitted to a 6 inch wobble extension and a deep well socket. Have fun

I hope it will be easier after I put in the 3" body lift...

Re: how many bolts hold the tranny to the motor?

Thanks guys, I was only able to get the bottom bolts on each side, I had my deep well socket with a 9in extension then a swivel and a 10in extension on the end of that. I had plenty of room but couldnt get the bolt off. I was using my mac impact with 150psi, but im thinking it was the swivel extension that was taking most of that punch and not breaking the bolt loose. Should I try a flex extension? or will it just snap with the force of an impact?
Thank you guys for the help!

Use a swivel socket that is impact rated. It is shorter than a socket plus the swivel.

Thanks a million. When pulling the engine my buddy was under the truck for that part. I guess he didn't want to keep track of 'em after he removed them. Should I just buy the highest grade I can find?
