    Vibration/Shuddering after 8" lift install

I have a 2009 silverado RCSB and just had the Superlift's 8" system put on. I have the stock 20's and tires that came with the truck on still as i am waiting for my 35's to come in...for all of yous that are wondering i ended up getting measurements of 45.5" in the front and 46.5" in the rear with the stock tires....anyways back to my question, the lift went on smooth and great without a problem and all of the angles look good, but i am noticing that when i am at a complete stop and go to take off i feel some shuddering in the whole truck all over the place but not majorly tho, it clears up after about 10-20 k's tho and it happens again when i come to a stop, i can feel it in the breaks and the truck shimmys..just slightly. I also notice a bit of a vibration while cruising at highway speeds...comes and goes,...almost like a bit of a howling and i can feel it under the floor. Im wondering if it is coming from the rear driveshaft since it is a rcsb and im pretty much sitting on the rear end!? Im starting to think that i might need to shim the rear some more? And i am also wondering if its because its such a big lift that the pinion angles would be a little more extreme compared to a longer truck and thats why it is noticeable?, and this is why i am feeling this? i dont know..maybee someone out there can help a bit. My 05' truck had a 6" but it was a rclb and i didnt experience anything like this. If someone can fill me in on if this is normal and will have to live with it or not or if i need to do something it would be appreciated to get some input.

...did you get and alignment done on the truck after the lift? I had the same problem, vibration after i hit 20-25mph, but when i would brake it would stop, and continue when i let off the brake...

Vibration from a dead stop sounds like a U Joint to me.

why would you figure it could be the alignment tho? and yous have me thinking and i cant remember if it did it when i drove from the shop to the alignment place..i dont recall but i dont think it did...but fill me in on why it could be the alignment? because all the research im doing im coming up with pinion angles being the cause quite poss due to the length of my driveshaft with the amount of lift...i dunno i called the 4x4 shop i ordered the lift from and they figure 4 degree shims will solve this...im gunna put them in and see..but yeah i need more info on the alignment part..thanks

Re: Vibration/Shuddering after 8" lift install

Increasing the angle on your joints could cause shuddering from the driveline. It's also possible that you have a bad alignment done, although an alignment will not cause a shudder, but a shimmy is possible if you have too much toe.

Also, since oftentimes the brakes are moved when installing the kit, I'd recommend re-bleeding your entire brake system, from Passenger rear (start) to driver's front. It may also be advisable to go through with a torque wrench to verify everything is torqued to spec and nothing worked itself loose.

if your alignment isn't damn near perfect with these trucks with the lift it will cause some nice vibrations to go on. my truck had some vibrations going the night after i lifted the truck untill i got it aligned the next day

seems like right after i got it done! would a bad alignment cause this shudder at takeoff from 0-20 then from about 20-0??

the angle of my driveshaft to the rear and is pretty much factory it looks like..and everything else looks nice and flat and straight..but from the upper DS to the tranny it looks a bit angled
