    97 1ton power steering issue

I have a 97 Chevy 1 ton and I'm having trouble finding a power steering pump for it. I guess due to the pump having and EVO filtration system on it. Truck has a hydo boost and this is the only truck I've ever owne that has this style pump system on it. My question is, does anyone know where to purchase one. It is actually leaking where the pump mates in to housing. Wasting more money on fluid then gas. I've tried all auto stores as well as the dealer. I figure I have to remove and have sent out to get rebuilt. Can anyone help with this??

lmctruck has them, their site isn't working right now so I can't send a link but it's page 114. $100 which is a lot cheaper than the regular pump.

You can put the pump on from a 96 without the evo.

RockAuto has them for about $85.00 plus core, ...the EVO sensor is a seperate purchase, does not come with ANY pump. make sure you replace the 3 orings on the EVO.

sorry I have not responded in some time, I got a job that allows me to drive someone else truck and my baby sites back in Texas. Sad to say I still have not replaced the pump on it. im out f town 10 weeks at a time, so she sites. Ill get it fixed and inform you of how I went about it. Also due to truck being 1 ton with a hydro boost, the standard pump will not work. I need the evo for line pressure. well, that's what ive been told.

I was just looking at pumps today and Advance auto had them for 135. You can get a 40 off coupon and shipping is free. I was just looking because I have hydro boost and mine is on the noisy side. I am going to flush it good first.

The pump off of a 96 will work fine, you just won't have the evo anymore.
In 97 they added this to the steering system. At low speed it lets more pressure out so it's easier to turn.
At high speed it backs the pressure down so you don't wander all over.
Without it will steer just like a 96. Will be a stiffer steering wheel but that's it.
