Re: TBI Mods.
I finally completed all of my TBI mods today and so far I'm happy with the results. I did the mods in stages so I will give you my feedback on the different parts.

The first mod was pretty simple stuff. I removed the air snorkle from inside the inner fenderwell, took off the air intake silencer that sets on the inner fender well and replaced it with a straight tube, replaced the stock air filter for a K&N unit that came with a chrome cover that fit the stock air cleaner assm., and added the Hypertech power charger to the top of the TBI. When I added the power charger I cut the bottom of the air filter box off so that it would get better flow.

These mods did not add that much noticable power but it did make for much smoother acceleration with less throttle movement.

The next mods I did were to the TB itself. I shaved the horns at the top of the TB (like they suggested in "The Ultimate TBI Mods"), I installed the 1/4" fuel pod spacer, I installed a fuel pressure gauge at the rear of the TB, and installed a CFM-Tech TB spacer.

These mods did show some increase in power but nothing that made me yell in excitement. Note my stock fuel pressure was set at 12psi from the factory,
thats not to bad.

The last mod I made was today when I started playing with the fuel pressure.
Like I said the stock setting was at 12psi and I have inched it up all the way to 14psi now, and have seen some performance increase. CFM-Tech reccomends 14 to 14.5psi for all of these improvements so I will keep playing with it to see what I get.

I also undersand that it may take a few days for the computer to adjust to all these mods so I will let you all know how things turn out in a couple weeks.

It may be that I will need to also get a custom tune for this to get all that I want from these mods. My goal was to get the 40hp more that they advertised and maybe pick up a couple more miles to the gallon if I can keep my foot out of it. We'll See. Oh and try and keep it smog legal for California.
