I drove a 54K mile 98 Yukon w/3.42's and my 220K mile 96 Suburban with 3.73's. the Sub is far faster and feels much more lively. And there isn't much of a mileage difference between the 2 trucks. So far in my experience, Suburbans have got better mileage than Tahoe/Yukons (Vortec 350 powered), with same gearing. Makes no sense if you ask me. Aerodynamics off the back end? Longer helps smooth airflow?? I know, long shot....
