Hey fellas! I'm a newbie here, I read all 4 pages of this thread looking for info on a leak into our '99 Burb. I found several things that may help as I was tearing our truck apart today....
My cowell drains through the firewall into a plastic "scupper" and then inside the fender. This scupper had a gasket around it that had failed on the bottom side. Water would leak down the firewall (driver's side) and around the boot for the hood release cable. The main wiring harness block could leak too from the same problem. Water would run along a wire harness and pool in the door sill and then wick up into the carpet and padding that wrapped over the edge. I found 1/2" water under the doorsill. I drilled a 1/8" weep hole at the low point in case that was not the only prob, I won't have the wicking. I also sealed the scuppers to the firewall. (driver & pass.)
