I am sure Im pricing these low.

actually, youre a little high. the injectors are right around $300, and the manifold about $200. they use existing SBC MPFI injector configurations, which means they can use preexisting fuel rails. theres no research for injector type. theres pretty much two injectors in the MPFI world... either its a peak and hold, or a saturated duty cycle. high or low resistance. ive priced a rail set at about $75. this is for individual purchase of parts. put it in a kit and knock something off the price.

They may have all the tooling for the vortec intake, but they will still need to design an intake which will accept the stock TB and all emissions.

yes. this is called research and development. its how aftermarket companies make money. without it, we'd all have 255BHP.

Since its Edelbrock add 500 on top of whats already there for their research and development.

500 divided by an initial production run of 20 units, for example, is $25 each.

Hate to say it but if there was interest from Edelbrock to do something like this they would have done it about 10 years ago.

AFAICT, there wasnt a demand for this 10 years ago.

This is a thread about who would buy this if it wasnt too far away from the price range. those that are interested, please post up, we''ll generate some interest and let the manufacturer price the kit.

even if you wanted to be cheap about it, you could just buy the manifold and head to the junkyard and find some TPI/LT1 fuel injectors, rail, etc...

then you'd be looking at $250-350 or so.
