Re: Painting Interior Pieces Guide (hopefully)
Just wanted to follow up with the dash paint tech'. the inital thread was written in regard to my dash. I bought a used dash, dissasembled it and degreased the absolute crap out of it, then scuffed it with 3M scotch brite pad. Applied around 5 coats of Glasurit 285-22 by BASF primer( very high build product ) hand sanded with 320, re-primed prob as many coats as intially done. Re-primed water sanded with 400 and painted. The Glasruit clear sprayed on it has flex additive in it (923-109). Then buffed removed the original, swapped components and wiring, reinstalled. If you try to sand out the grain or texture to and OBS you run the chance of warping of fuzzing up the plastic, so i basicly filled in the grain with primer and built a smooth surface to paint. Hope this helps anyone interested.
