Well, the shaft wasnt bent, the pulley installer i borrowed from autozone was junk. They gave me a new one and it went on like butter. The pump i had had the older v belt style pulleys on and my tbi 350 was serpentine. So iended up getting a serpentine pulley from autozone for a newer truck and pressing it on to the older power assist power steering pump.

thanks BagginA93chev, it doesnt look like much, but i can see the end product in my head and i want to get it done as soon as possible.
