You need a new front shaft if you have an Autotrac transfer case in any truck up to ~05. Sometime around that point, they switched to a new case that didn't spin the front driveshaft in 2wd.

I'm not talking about the switch here. Sorry if i didn't explain myself. But i meant his shaft was more pricey since it was a heavier duty shaft, unlike the half ton shaft. The NBS shafts are aluminum if im not mistaking. Or the majority are aluminum, and aluminum is expensif. I might be wrong here, and if i am, dont be shy to tell me so.
