yeah, transgo's instructions really suck. I had alot of the same issues when I intalled mine, but I didn't have the 4L60e manual so it took ALOT longer than it needed to. I had to do alot of tuning too to get it to shift how I like after the install also. I think I put in 1 washer, shifts are firm but not harsh.
even with the shift kit in there, I don't like the 4L60e very much. it just doesn't give me what I want. so I'm in the process of swapping it out to a t56 six speed manual. I've always liked the feel of a manual tranny anyways.
good write up though, wish this would have been around when I did my install.
'96 ECSB 5.7L, 411 PCM, EFILive V1 self-tuned, LC-1, ZZ4 cam, Custom MPFI w/ 24# Bosch 890's @ 45psi, headers, catback, Detroit Truetrac, 3.73, 1.52 RRs, 75mm TB, sound deadened, DEH-P600UB, Polk comps/10", kicker amps. In the works: T56, Mark VIII fan, distributorless coil near plug setup.
