Any fabric that touches your paint should be something like a cotton terry towel, microfibre or absorbent synthetic towels (chamois, absorber, sham-wow, etc.)

It's not hard to create swirl marks, not to say other stuff doesn't work, but it's better to invest in a good set of towels just because. I'm not a stickler for pretty paint. But if i can acheive a reasonable shine through elbow grease and some supplies, then i'll do it. I'm no perfectionist though
