Question FAQ
FAQ:
Q: That info you gave on the ford key and cranking the t-bars was great. Thanks. I have a question, when I want to the ford parts web site I entered the part # you gave and two parts came up and I wonder if you tell me which one I need. There was one for Expedition, Navigator 4wd '97-'02 AND F-150/250 4wd 97-04. If you can help me I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you.

A: It is the same part, it just goes on 2 different vechicals, it does not matter, they are one in the same

Q: If I use heavier torsion bars, do I have to use heavier keys on my 1/2 ton?
A: No, keep your 1/2 ton keys

Q: Can I use ford keys with heavier torsion bars?
A: Yes, put you will have steeper angles.

Q: Should I use ford keys for my 2500HD?
A: No, use the "green key" or the 1/2 Chevy key. 15592573 you can get them from GM Parts Direct

Q: Can I use ford torsion bars?
A:

Q: Can't I use a C-clamp instead of a puller like you have?
A: Yes, but I consider it to be more dangerous.

Q: How much lift can I get out of ford keys?
A: That really depends on your torsion bars, and how much you are willing to crank. It differs from .5" to 3" i personally only wanted to get my fender at 48.5" which is about 1.5"

Q: Will the ford keys work on a 88-98 truck?
A: Yes they will! We found this out after a brave member tried it successfully.

Q: Will the "green keys" from the 1/2 tons work on the 88-98 heavy duty trucks?
A: I think so, but I have never tired.

Q: Do you have these pictures in a higher resolution?
A: Yes, send me a e-mail to request them Click Here

Q: How long does this install take?
A: Depending on how careful you are, cranking takes about 5 minutes, and the keys/bars take about 30-90 minutes

Q: Will my ride suffer?
A: Yes, ignore it

Q: If i am completely stock, how much can I crank before my shocks loose their travel?
A: I am guessing about 1 inch, i wouldn't go over that or your ride will suffer, and you wont have any travel.

Q: What torsion bars do I have?
A: Read the tags under on the back of the bars then match them with the codes I have

If u have any questions, or see something I did wrong, please post about it
6.0 Swap, Powerdyne supercharger, SFA, 44" boggers, some other stuff
