FWIW I believe I first noticed the knocking around the 12K mark; in any case, there is definitely some knocking (not excessively loud but clearly audible at idle) shortly after startup, and definitely after every cold startup.
Fixed after '02? If my FSC is any indication, GM apparently didn't do a thorough job of doing so.

Thanks, toneman. All I hear people talk about is models up to '02 and my '03 is quiet. It only has 9500 miles so far. I hope it stays that way. I already have one knocking. My '02 Trans Am has been to the shop once. The tech called GM and described what he heard. GM says "it is normal for that model".

Isn't having a smoking section in a resturant like having a peeing section in a pool?
