2002 Silverado: Where is the rearview mirror temperature sensor located?

Hello,

I have a 2002 Silverado and I discovered that my truck is pre-wired for one of those rearview mirrors with the temperature and compass readouts. I bought a mirror, plugged it up, and the compass works but I get the reading "DC" in place of the temperature readout. I was thinking that this probably means "disconnected". I looked behind the grille of the truck and could not find any type of temperature sensor. I just wanted to make sure it was connected, if there even is one. Does anyone know where it is supposed to be? .The owners manual is not any help. Thanks a lot.

True, some of the wiring is in place but the temperature sensor is not there. When installed, it is located infront of the rad. on one of the angled brackets.
