View Full Version : NBS Short Overhead Console Question

The FedEx truck just dropped off the overhead console I won on ebay. Its the short one with the pocket and 2 map lights. I've searched this site for installation help, and have found out that since my truck is a regular cab, the bracket for the clips to go into is not installed in the roof of the truck. But, I could not find the PN for this bracket. Does anyone here know the PN for this? I'm sure I can just go to the GM part counter and explain what I need, but a PN sure helps.

I just took mine out of my ext. cab and it had a small clip, one on each side. I installed mine into my uncles 99 reg. cab. does yours have that? If so, your truck should have the place to press the clips into. hope this helps

Your uncles 99 had the bracket for the clips? From all the posts I have read in here, there usually isn't a bracket in the reg cab. for the short console. Hmmm....... I need to take my headliner out again and double-check. How did you figure out where to cut into the headliner?

it wasn't a bracket. there were 2 small slits in the roof support that the push in clips went. then it had the small hole in front for the screw.

I popped down the front of the headliner and punched a small hole for the screw. then held the console up and used a sharpy to mark where to cut.

THere is a brace that goes under the headliner for the overhead console. I had to order one when I pu tmine in. I will try and find my receipt and get the part number for ya

Do the short consoles fit the OBS trucks too? I have a long one, but my brother likes the short one better and would put it in an '88.
