Sunroof and headliner

One of these days, I'd like to have a power sliding sunroof installed in my truck. For now, I'd like to install a larger overhead console which will involve cutting holes in my headliner. Will extra holes be a problem when I do finally get around to having a sunroof installed, or will they need to build a custom headliner anyway?

The console would have to be the short one or the long console would have to be bobbed to accomodate the cutout for the sunroof

I'd be losing the console by the time I'm ready for a sunroof. I'm thinking about going ahead and installing my short overhead console, but when I get a sunroof, I want to ditch it in favor of the shortest overhead console (found in the Tahoe w/factory sunroof) so the sunroof can be closer to the visors like it is in the Tahoe.

Or maybe I should just not bother with the short console and put in a Tahoe console right off the bat???

wouldnt waste your time with the long console and just put in the tahoe console and then you wont spend extra money and there wont be any holes to cover up..and it depends on who does your sunroof if they will just cut a opening in your headliner now or put in a custom one....but more than likely they will just cut yours and install the sunroof

How much has it cost people to get a sunroof put in their truck?

just get one of the tahoe short consoles w/ the sunroof switch on it then you can use the switch for the sunroof and make it look factory. i saw one on ebay a while back.

Thanks, I think I will take all your advice and just put in a Tahoe console with the switch in it.
I bid on one recently but didn't make the reserve whatever it was.

I think it costs about $1500 to put a power sunroof in the truck.

I would go ahead and just install the shorter console that will save time and money in the long run and as far as installing a power sliding moonroof you are looking anywhere from $1000 to $1500 that is if you want the sock look my taste is geared more toward a sliding rag top or a targa top but then my philosophy is that stock sucks
