Ok I am looking to install a CB Radio in the dash of my 96 Tahoe. I am going to put where the stock CD player is. Does anyone know what size CB can I get so that it will fit in that location. Thanks
Pics would help of people who have done this before.

cobra makes one a little smaller, but i think it is thicker..why not just mount it under your dash, or in the center console?

i dont think your going to find one, it might be either too wide or too tall, i nkow some cobra ones would, but they are the really crappy two channel ones that are just horrible.
where are you going to put your factory radio?

I would also like one that fits, even if I have to do a little glass work to make it look right. The factory one in my 88 is going in the garbage. I replaced the equilizer on the dash with a cd player and I like it a lot more. Right now the factory one wont even turn on, it just sits there. A cb would be awesome in its place.

ok so is the cb going in the 88 or the 96? if it goes in the 88 it isnt goign to fit in the stock location, you would have to redo that whole over gauge peice cause the cb would be too long.

that might be the best one for you, its their lowest model so dont expect alot of good nature from it...but..that is small enough to fit, maybe a little tall, and you can do some glass work to make it fit

I replaced my factory radio with a new Pioneer. The factory CD player is just sitting in the dash that is what I want to replace. Also I was thinking about getting the COBRA 25 WX NW ST NIGHTWATCH. I think that it will fit in the spot

ok wait im confused, if this is in the 96 tahoe are you talking about the lower cd player? above the factory pocket?
it wont fit there, that one is about 8-10 inches lonjg and about 5 inchs tall and about 12 inchs deep..you would have to cut and glass like crazy

In my 96 there is no factory pocket in the dash. That is where the single CD player is. Its an AUX unit. The head unit of the stereo had a tape player in it.

ok so your wanting to put it in the factory Radio spot, the 1.5 din spot correct?
that one you want is going to be too long to go there, the one i pointed out will fit but will be too small. you will have to glass
side question where is your cd player now?
