Molsondrinkr 07-22-2004, 08:31 AM Hi, not sure if '96 is the same but I just took mine out last week on a 1997. Should be tho' I just had to pull out the inner "tray". It just popped out when I tugged on it. Then underneath there was two bolts into the floor at the front of the console. I don't recall the size right now. After those were out I had to slide the whole thing forward because the rear part is under a plate that is attached to the body of the truck. It was really simple. The worst part was I had to catch a mouse after.:D Maybe that will help. Later Molsondrinkr 97Chebbie 07-22-2004, 08:59 AM That's correct. The interiors are the same for 96-98 and OBS 99 too I think. If you want more info, buy a Haynes or Chilton manual for your truck. They come in very handy. Stabbin97Tahoe 07-23-2004, 12:25 AM I took mine out on my '97 which is the same. And Molsondrinkr gave you some good info but he was drinking that sh!t beer Molson :read: :nono: Anyways, open up the top and there are 4 (I think) screws holding the center bin in place to the rest of the console. Then lift out that bin and you will see two bolts up front, remove those. And then slide the console forward...the rear of the console has a lip that slides under a piece attached to the fram. You may have to remove the rear sliding door on the bottom of the console. Good Luck :D vBulletin® v3.8.2, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
