I swear someone was looking into this long time ago. Cant remember the details but its seems as if the switch wont do it for you - the auto-headlamps are a function of the BCM. The switch is jsut an input to the BCM and obviously the BCM's on the 03's are different.

If you want to get rid of the AHS feature, I did a write up on it - its in the "FSC University" (find it on the home page)

I think he's talking about how the switch on 03-04's have a position to turn the auto headlights off.

I know that. But I'm not sure if the switch really controls the on/off function of the AHS or jsut inputs a signal to the BCM to kill the feature

someone said once they could reach through the radio hole - but they must've had bamboo sticks for arms, 'cuz there aint no way in hell my massive pythins were gonna fit in there :D

You take the whole dash cover off - take the dash bezel off and the grab handle and I think there are a couple of screws then the whole plastic dash unit comes off. I hear its not hard, just a PITA because its so big.

trick to turing off the auto headlights is push the dome override button 3 times quick and it will turn them right off.I have a 01 and it works great dealer told me about it. Bolth my -4'shave the off button.

too bad that trick doesn't work with the 99's. you have to turn off the truck, push in the emergency break enough so that the senser thing is activated, the restart the truck. pain in the ass

There used to be a write up for disabling the headlights with a 1000 ohm resistor inline with a couple of wire on the BCM. I've done it on my 99 and have a switch inline so I can turn it on or off.

Of course I can't find the write up for ya now either...lol. But, it can be done. Nick should know...he did it on his 99 also.
