Does it do this with all CD's or burnt CD's?

:word: That could be a problem. Make sure you use decent CD-R's. If you are, try burning at a slower speed.

My '01 does it with some factory pressed CD's... Metallica St. Anger won't play at all. It does seem to be worse with burns, but I can't say that for sure... I haven't had the truck long enough, and haven't played enough CD's. I'm to lazy to change discs, and am often happy with listening to the radio on my short commute... OR I'm listening to the 5.3L sing. :head:

Someday I'll get around to cleaning the lense... or better, just replace the stupid headunit.

Well, then I guess you could try using a lense cleaner disk. Although, you might wanna check w/ some other people on whether it's safe to do w/ the GM CD player. :dunno:

man mine does that too all I have are burned cd's except black label society I bought those and they sometimes work, Id say I have a 50-50 chance of my cd player playing. So I just got a head unit now I just need to put it in.

it happens to me quite often with burned cds. pressed cds dont seem to be a problem. im burning at 48x and haven't tried anything slower cause im impatient.

I just got my truck and I noticed this problem too. My friend says that his family's GM's do it if you push the CD in the player to hard. You gotta let it suck it in itself. But the Laser is super-weak in these stock radios, if there is any scratch at all it won't play. Can't wait to get an aftermarket head-unit.
