I have a 350 out of my 1988 truck that I need to get rid of. A few weeks ago a rod bearing in the engine went out and I replaced then engine with a spare that I had in the garage in an effort to get my truck back on the road faster. The old 350 is still a very good engine just needs a rebuild. It has 124,000 miles on it. I would like to get:
$175 As is
or
$375 with a complete rebuild done (including rings, crank turned, gaskets, etc)

I live in Minnesota and will deliver anywhere within about a hundred miles for free. I can ship anywhere in the country but then the buyer must pay shipping and handling. I need to get this thing out of my garage so make an offer.

My tranny just bit the dust and now I really have to get rid of this engine to pay for a new tranny. Anyone who makes a reasonable offer will get it.

What kind of transmission do you need? Maybe we can work something out?

I would love to get my hands on a nv4500 and do a manual conversion. However, right now a 700r4 would work great. Anything to get the truck back on its feet. Also, I have two friends that go to Iowa state and if you are anywhere around there I will just meet you there to make the trade.

Oh you are dang near the cities. N/M then. If you were closer I would probably have gotten it.

Do you have any pics of the engine? Does it come complete?

Depending on what you are saying complete is, yes it is complete. The only thing missing to be able to start this engine up would be the tbi setup. I took all of the accesories of the front because those went on the new engine for my truck. Basically you get all the insides of the engine, oil pan, block, intake manifold, valve covers, cams, some vacum thing on top of the intake manifold, and I believe the starter is still connected. I will get some pics of the engine tomorrow and post them in the evening.

If you would like I will include a 454 TBI setup for an additional $100. It would require giong to napa to get a new IAC plug for the trucks wiring harness because the plugs were differnt between the 350 and the 454 TBI setups. Also I have the EGR pump, and the alternator which I could include for a extra $75 I think, let me know if that sounds liketoo much.

The waterpump needs to be rebuilt as well and needs a new pulley for the front. I would be more than happy to get the pulley for anyone who buys the engine.

Anyone that finds me a good running chevy truck with little to no rust for under a grand (I dont care how old it is). I will give this engine to. I have no problem driving to ND or SD to pick up the truck if thats what it takes and I will help anyway I can to deliver the engine.

It is about 4 and a half hours from where I live to cedar rapids. However, I have a friend that is going to ISU in ames and he said that if you would like he can bring the engine with him down there and you can pick it up there which would be about 2 hours from cedar rapids.

He makes trips back and forth about every other week. I know he is heading up here this weekend and could bring it down tuesday. If it doesnt go down tuesday then it would be 2 weeks from now.
