Anyone knew a good place to get suede to do a headliner and the cloth inserts in my doors... Just wondering and looking into prices for the future...

i dont know where to get real suede but it is really expensive. you can get ultra suede at all most all fabric stores. im doing my headliners and doors this winter with ultra suede.

I don't know if it's real suede or not, but try sounddomain.com. they have a shop on there for supplies

I got my fake suede at JoAnn's fabrics for around $7 a yard. I thought it was very nice quality, and pretty close to the real thing.

I also bought some online, and spent $30+ for material that sucked. I'd try to check it out in person first if you can to make sure it's the right shade and good material. The stuff I ordered off the net ended up being more like velour. It was a waste of time and $$$$.

be sure to get something close to upholstery grade, otherwise the glue will seep through. also, i used 3M 90 Hi-Strength glue and it worked out fine. i have also heard of people using DAP to glue it on. good luck!

:word: Good point. As long as you let the glue get tacky before putting any pressure on it, you'll be okay. I ruined the first piece I worked on because I got impatient and the glue was still wet. Seeped through and looked terrible.
