cool! they look good in there - just too bad that GM uses really crappy "leather". Down the road you could get some Katzkin covers for them to really dress things up.

Do you have any lateral bracing?

Do you have any lateral bracing?i think there are 2 front and back. they are sturdy for sure. i bolted em down and tried to rip em up and the truck started bouncing from side to side.

What are you running for seatbelts? I don't think the firebird seats had them like the trucks, Did they?

yeah either slmdlt1 or chvylac will do my fiberglassed center console. single 10" Digital Design sub, with a cubby hole smoothed to a gloss black with a leather shift boot.
as for the belts, i just re-used the old stockers for now. i dunno what im'a do with em, i may just leave em alone.

I like the idea, but can you even see over the dash and wheel?! they look so far down. I dont know about this one. Maybe if you add some spacers to it between the sliders and the bracket. I dont know, just an concern and idea...
cool mod though.

Keep in mind that these are 6 way adjustable seats, and you can raise them about 2" above the mounting height. His brackets look shorter than mine, and I mounted mine about 2" too high. I'm only 5'-10" tall too.

Good point! Hey, know how hard it would be to do the same thing with Camaro Seats?

Mine are from a 2001 camaro. The only real difference is the TA seats have a removable headrest, whereas the camaro seats are just regular highback buckets.

did you have your brackets custom made, or make them yourself? if you made them yourself, could you send a little DIY info my way?

I had the help of a friend. After a couple hours of tweaking, we came up with a pair of brackets that I was comfortable with.
They're really pretty simple. It's just a frame of 1" sq. steel tubing and a few gussets for added stability. I'll try to locate some of the better pics, and email them to you tomorrow.

the seats are too high as it is. im gonna have about 1.5" taken off the brackets and im 5'10" as well, my head is probably 5-6 inches form the roof. if you look proportionately at those pics...the headrest is taller than the steering wheel at the steering wheel's highest point. i dont drive with the wheel at is highest point so looking over it is no problem. i sat on flatter seats boltd straight to the floor with no spacers and could still see over the wheel/dash fine, these taller, bracketed/spacered seats shouldnt be a problem.

HOw is the legroom. I am trying to convince a customer to drop a set of buckets in his truck but he's 6'3" and won't do it unless it give him more legroom.

to be honest its no worse than the bench seats legroom with mine. they are power and i havent hooked it up yet to slide them back any, but there is room to if need be.

I think it really depends on how much he intends on reclining the seat. If you leave the seat in a vertical position, it does increase the legroom, but driving is very uncomfortable. I've only driven mine 3 times since last october because of it. For someone who is that tall, I would probably advise against the seat swap.
