Adding Automatic Climate Control Unit To 2002 Silverado?

Hi,

I was just wondering if I can add an automatic climate control unit to my truck which did not originally come with it. I've noticed that some suburbans came with it and it's the same size as the unit in my 2002 Silverado. Would I just be able to plug it in and have it work or is the wiring different? Thanks for your help.

i believe the auto climate feature is MORE than just the controls...possible second condensor and such.

if my memory serves from a olds bravada, it is way more than just the controller. you will need basically everything off the donor truck, except the condensor and the compressor. you will need everything in the interior. i don't know much more than that, other than my friend tried using the bravada one in his jimmy. never did get it right.

in the end, it really isnt worth the greif...

Thanks for the replies. I figured that it was more than just the control, but I wanted to ask around first. I'm just going to leave it the way it is.

Nope.. not really. People have swapped the unit over, but they cant control the speed of the fans.. I never heard what the outcome of it was, but there is another harness that has to be hooked up
