So my truck is gettin ready to go into the body shop, and when I pulled the rear door panels off, there was dust and dirt and road grime under there. Is this a common thing? Has it happened to anyone else? Also, I have installed my door popper solinoids, and when I took the front door panels off after about a month of it sitting in the rain, then 3 weeks in the heated garage, they are covered in white powdery stuff? What is this?

Thanks Guys, Britt Coulson

the road grime comes from the factory vents in the truck. there are vents in the truck to help move air in the truck when your windows are down I believe.
have you ever notices a slight breeze around your feet when you have the windows barely opened? thats due to those pesky lil vents. they also allow a little dust and dirt in. look at the latch edge of your door see that little vent? thats one of those pesky little buggars.
as for the white powdery stuff thats a type of corrosion caused by condensation on the poppers due to the rain.(i hope thats what this powder is...lol)

there is a rubber strip that attaches to the bottom of the door that sites against the body, that and the vent rubber keeps dirt and crap out..

If it's just dust then i would'nt worry, if it's pieces of stuff I'd looking into it further.
