i set the speedo and tach at 0

i filled up my tank and set fuel at full

whats normal oil pressure supposed to be at?

whats normal temperature supposed to be at?

Please help if you know...thanks!

I kinda hate to say it, but you probably should have written them down before hand. you might have to take it to a dealer and have them set them for ya.

Yup!:D Or you can wing it...

Tach idle = 750/800
Speedo = on the peg
Volt idle cold = little over center (14)
oil cold = 60
Fuel if completely full = a little past the last line.

The clusters are put into a fixture at the assembly plant and the needles are staked "hot". A specific calibration voltage is applied to each gauge, thru the printed circuit connector on the back, and the needles are then staked at a specified "target" on the gauge.
You can do as CKTA suggested but the gauges will never be right until you have them re-calibrated... or put in Autometers...:D

Yep, your just gonna have to wing-it. Also, if you place them on there while its horizontal the gauge wont read the same when its vertical mounted.

Also, if you push the needle down too far it will drag on the overlay and not read properly.

I drew a template before I changed mine out and they were still never right. Thats why I bit the bullit and replaced mine with the escalade cluster.

"Wing-it" = guesstimate

Temp SHOULD be around 180.

I just swapped my gauges out and I'm having the same problem. The speedo starts out way below 0. I was clocked at 55 when the gauge read 63. Can I fix this, or will I need it recalibrated?

Has anyone ever recalibrated the gauges at a dealer? If so how much did it cost? What year truck?
