View Full Version : Center console fit?

I have the "skinny guy" center seat, back flips down to be a console. There is some stuff I would like to mount, touchscreen VGA monitor, etc, for a car computer project. Would this type fit in place of the skinny guy seat?

Would it fit up to the dash where the lighter sockets, useless pocket and ash tray are?

The 'skinny guy seat' mounts exactly as this console does. Should be a clean modificationless swap. Is this console out of an 04?

i want to do that too but the only bad thing is you wont have anything to put your arm on since that pictured console is about the same level as the top of the seat bottom and your seats dont have arm rests or atleast in mine they dont.

Actually, that console is taller and has a slight higher mounting than the 'skinny seat'. It can be used as an armrest, but it is definately lower than the factory fold-down armrests. I think the console looks a lot cleaner than the 'skinney seat'. It's all in the preference of 'look' or 'functionality'.

if your truck is an 03 or newer you will need the lower part of the dash for a truck that came with a factory console.

im just sayin in my moms 01 yukon its way to low to be used as an armrest.

I don't disagree with you, mine is too low for a functional armrest. Its out of a 2000, probably the same console as your Mom's. But it could be a functional armrest for a shorter person.

The console in the 03+ models (like the pic he posted is a couple of inchest taller than the 02 and older consoles.
