View Full Version : Need some help with LEDs

I have a 91 Silverado. Im wanting to swap the two bottom interior lights and the dome light to red leds. I read in other threads that the bulbs are 194s and a 4211. Im completly lost about what these numbers refer to. Im planning on buying from http://www.superbrightleds.com, so if you guys could point me in the right direction there I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

its the bulb model number thats all. that site says what lights their leds take place of

try cutting the wires dude
ive got neon in mine
did it my self
also got a strobe
looks good
but its crappy neon workin on getting the good stuff but got to have the$$$$

So will the 1157-R12 Red LED work for the floor bulbs?

is the bulb in it now an 1157? r 12 is prolly just there stock number

The bulbs in it right now have 1003 S4A J5 on it.

if you want a nice bright red color id say put some cold cathodes under the dash and seats....
i replaced my dome light with a8-9led replacement with green and the green sucks for several reasons.... Big hot spots on the lense and the output just sucks! hard to see anything with it on!

ive ordered leds thru superbright before but ive always got the dome light ones that just needed to be pluged in.
i buy my leds with resistors at http://www.oznium.com/ those sucks are just as bright and ya dont have to go extra trips to radioshack for resitstors.LOL but the cold cathodes and definatly the brightest ive seen and also they are so low profile so you can hide them just about anywhere!
and even if you wanted you could remove them from the tube and realy put the bulbs anywhere! just dont have the bare wire where someone can touch it if they are grounded ;) might give them a nice shock ;) if ya pull them outta thier tubes they are only as big as a pens ink tube! VERY SMALL!

and now they sell the 4inch versions also. eventualy ill put some in my truck.... ive already got them im just to lazy to wire them up since its so cold in my garage :(
