Does anyone know if seats from a 96-98 chevy would fit in my 89 chevy regular cab and what colors did they come in for the 96-98s.

Yes they fit but you might have to drill a new hole or 2 depending which seats you get.

Is that a big pain in the ass? Did they have maroon in those years?

96-98 came in blue, tan, gray (dark/light), not sure what other colors, those are the ones i can think of...what kind of seats do you have in your truck now and what color are they????

So what are the year of bucket seats that will "fit" in say an 88 or 89 regular cab? And would the console "fit" (like could i make it work) in there too? Just wondering if i could get buckets for the truck im looking at getting. Thanks

Considering that the 88-98 cab did not change, any seat combination from 88-98 will fit, but may require new holes.

I am in desperate need for a set of buckets for my 89 too, the factory bench has held up well over 219xxx miles, but the support springs under the driver side aren't supporting anymore. Matter of fact I sit about 2" lower than everyone else.

:matty: I sit about 4" lower cause not only are my seats not supporting me but my body mounts are also shot lol.

1 Clean 91, that is titties. I would be happy if i could get my interior lookin that nice. How hard was that carpet and the seats to put in?

Actually, "If you can take it out, you can put it back in".

Once everything was out, the carpet was Plug'n Play. But the seats were a little more labor intensive. The driver side was easy (bolted right in), but the passenger seat was a bit more labor intensive. I could use only one of the existing factory holes, I had to modify the other 3 holes to fit the bucket seat foundation. (Originally, this truck had the 60/40 bench.)

If you would like more detailed info, please let me know. It's well worth the effort ~ if you want bucket seats.

So how much did the console set you back?

Let's put it this way... I call it "The $500. console".

Reasoning behind that is:
I searched around for a while and found that this console was the one I wanted. So, I purchased a tan one off eBay for $175. I received it and it was complete and in very good condition. Then I researched on dyeing it. Well that was a very bad idea (my experience anyway). Let's just say that I ended up throwing it in the dumpster (I was PISSED with the results!).

I found my current console on the internet (not eBay) and paid another $200. When I received it, the latch that kept the lid closed was broken. I proceded to the Chevrolet parts counter for the latch. Come to find out that the lid and the inner-tub is 'all one part' ~ another $180. Then I needed the front block plate, this is another $45 (x2 ~ I purchased one for the tan console that got dyed ~ it went into the dumpster with the console...). This is the piece that separates the console from the piece that connects to the dash (Click here to see (http://www.geocities.com/krbo007/NewInt09.html)).

A LOT of irritation and effort, but now I can reap the rewards. I like it :)

That effort looks great. Im gunna start lookin for seats and a console pretty soon.
