I can't stand leather seats. It doesn't matter if its 10 degrees or 100 degrees they still make me sweat and they are either freezing cold or scalding hot and look like hell once then get some age on them and that just destroys the value of the truck IMO. I have cloth seats and after 163,109 miles they still look like new and are very comfy. Thats just my opinion though.

I love my leather.

I've got my car alarm/starter installed so that it turns on the heated seats when you start it up. Works pretty good. It's pretty important. Especially in Wisconsin.

But I do agree with you, leather seats seem to have more cushion to them than cloth.

My mom had a Hyundai Sonata that had leather seats, and they were the most uncomfortable leather seats ever. It wasn't even worth the option cost.

I have had several vehicles with leather and really liked them.

i agree it looks really bad when your truck is only a few years old and the seats are all faded and cracked.

I like the pleather seats :aniteef:
Cloth is not half as easy to keep clean for those of us that actually use our trucks :D

My wife agrees. Neither one of us likes leather. HATE IT! I'll take cloth any day of the week.

i would prefer leather over my cloth, i was pretty dissapointed when i found out that i couldnt afford the truck that had leather and settled for this one. and as long as you keep them conditiond with a good leather cleaner/conditioner they stay nice for just as long as the cloth ones. my great uncle has lether in his truck and they look like new simply cause he cleans them every weekend.

Well, It may help if they're taken care of. I had leather put in my truck when I bought it new. It's a little over 3 years now and they look and feel the same as the day they were installed. I condition mine every two weeks. It may be overkill, but I sure hasn't hurt.

the look of leather/vinyl is so much better then cloth, but for a daily, i wont pimp it, so me and sky (wkdspd) desided on a combo, vinyl outside with a cloth insert..keeps my ass from sweating..LOL

If leather is taken care of it will last lifetime. :D People claim that leather seats make you sweat and cloth seats keep you from sweating; however, the only difference between leather and cloth is cloth seats absorb the sweat. :D

not true crazy

the cloth breaths better then leather..it allows more air to flow back and forth.

im sorry but i dont sweat anough for the seat to actually soak it up

Too much Olestra (http://www.zug.com/pranks/olestra/) in the diet, perhaps?

I used to eat those WOW potato chips with olestra a lot a few years back but the side affects did not affect me. I have always sweated like a mofo and probably always will. The only way I will sit on leather seats is if there is a towel or blanket over the seat.

Cloth wins

1990 Silverado with 175,000 plus miles and no rips, tears, or worn spots

also engine and trans have the original gaskets and still uses almost 1 quart of oil every 3,000 miles.

Now if it would sip gas that well.

I think the leather looks better and is easier to keep clean.

Of course, we all know that the only leather in an EC is the frontseat butt and back panels. The side of the seat, the arm rests and the head rests are vinyl. Oh, and the back seat is totally vinyl...

Never understood that, but I got the "leather seats" option anyway. :D

I prefer the cloth seats in my '97 and '92. My wife likes her leather seats in the '96 but I can't ever get comfortable in them.

I am a sweaty mofo and I personally sweat less on the leather seat in the 98 than the cloth in the Tahoe.

Whoa man don't take the joking so hard.

I like leather a lot but it's not worth it in the summer when it gets around 100+ degrees. Also, I slide around a whole lot on leather and it gets annoying. (maybe because I only weigh 135lbs) The main thing I dislike about cloth is the fruity little designs they put on the seats. Couldn't just be a plane gray seat? Oh yeh is it just me or does cloth absorbe a lot more of the funky smells?

Well after having cloth in my truck then buying Katzkins. I have to say Katzkins are 10X more comfortable. They don't make me sweat like my dad's leather in his pontiac, but they do feel a little cold in the winter. However I can live with it.

hehe I meant odors in general but yeah I did notice the farts lingering. Gotta pull the lift and release method. (that's when the locking seat belt is a real enconviniance)

WERD! I don't care if I had 10 kids, I could tell it was a joke.

BTW. I love my leather. Easy to clean and it's so comfy. :cheer:

I'll go with leather easer to clean and more durable. Like when acid leaked out of some new batteries I bought on to my seats. A lot of pits and there are some dark spots on the seat but no real holes. And aftermarket leather is better of course 235K on some and not a crack. A 165K on the factory’s and drivers look like ****. I spent 6 hr. cleaning my girlfriend’s seats with upholstery cleaner and it was still pulling dirty water out of them.

Does anyone on here NOT exercise or work for that matter? Everyone who has cloth seats say they don't sweat. That makes no sense. The bottom line is, cloth seats are like a sponge. Leather is more comfortable IMO, easier to clean, and when you spill coffee on them, you simply wipe it off. I'll never own cloth again.

Neither will I. I'm looking for a Daily driver now and I could care less if it has cloth because the first thing I'll do is get Katzkins for it.
