I will soon be doing a 18 circuit painless harness on my 83 so I may be able to give you some pointers in a few weeks.

I have a Hot Rod wires Harness, 22volt with an additional 18volt accessory fuse block, you should look into this kit, bigger ignition wires than painless and an overall better deal

izzy, what do you think of this kit for the 83? also if you dont mind how much did the hot rod kit run you?

The whole thing including heat shrink wrap for all wiring was $550.00 so the kit itself w/out the heat shrink would be 450 or so.
