Where do I get one for a 2001 GMC extended cab? I've seen them mentioned everywhere, but have yet to actaually see one for sale for a full size GM truck. I want to raise my rear seat a bit so I can get more room for some 12"s that I have. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx!

I haven't heard of a kit that you can buy off the shelf. The only ones I can think of right offhand were custom fabricated like ibthumpin had done. I wouldn't be surprised if he posted later tonight with some info you could use.

why not just use some metal washers from home depot to raise it?

I'd like to get 1.5-2" rise out of it. Washers wouldn't work very well for that.
I haven't looked to see how exactly it bolts on, but maybe a 2" square tubed steel bar with matched holes and longer mounting bolts may work? Then just make a pretty cover to go over it all?

that'll work. i did the same thing but with 1 1/2" square tubing.

belmontrider, how do you keep your backseat from vibrating and bouncing off the back of the cab. i fabed up some 2' brackets to lift my seat, and at the back of the seat where it is held by the u shaped retainers, there was too much play and the seat bounced back-n-forth and ratteled when i was going down the road. i put a 1/2 inch spacer under the seat, had a custom box built for 2-12s and my amps, and wedged a towel behind the seat to keep it from vibrating.

I used to Solid Block of Billet, drill two holes in each block, then two Round Steel Stock (Solid Rods)3 in. long and Drill them out and tapped them to the thread count of the stock bolts. Screwed the round nuts onto the stock bolts, tapped down the Billet Blocks .. put the seat on top the blocks and bolted it down.
For the back of the seat I used some flat bar stock cut it a couple of inches long and bolted it to the stock tabs ....
Someone on GMFS made billet Slider tabs for that so you can lower and raise the back part of the seat, so I got a set from him.
my friend that's 6'6" didnt have a problem.
Did he lay down? I had 2" spacers on the back seat in my '99 and my head rubbed the ceiling, and I'm only 6'1"

I knew bout the 2 floor mounts obviously, but I have yet to "tear" into it. So there is also a rear mount for the seat back?

Not really a mount, persay.
On the back of the seat there are two steel hooks that snag into some loops on the back wall of the cab.
Flush with what ?
Yeah, flush with what?
