I own a 1998 K1500 Z71. It's been an awesome pickup until this last weekend when my driverside interior door hand quit working. Just on of those things that happens I guess. I pull the handle, but it won't release the latch. It's so worn that it don't even return to the full closed position. I am going to buy some a new pair of chrome ones from www.ckresto.com with my next pay check. Has anyone ever replaced their door handle, and is it that hard of a job to do? I've removed my inner door panels before so I know how to do that.

They are easy easy easy to replace and you're not the first one ever. Those handles are notorious for breaking/bending, I replaced tons of them last summer. Got it down to less than 10 minutes :-P I'm pretty sure there is a tech article around here somewhere for it...

I believe all that's involved is just removing the door panel, drilling out some rivets, removing the old handle assembly and installing the new one.

mine was kinda like that.. it just ended up being the rod plastics guides, cleaned and silicone sprayed them, and also the handle came out of the groves... i just man handled it back into place. LMFAO
